Light: Prefers bright, direct to indirect sunlight. Needs at least 4–6 hours of sun daily to thrive and bloom well. A south- or west-facing window is ideal.
Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Keep soil evenly moist in spring/summer, and slightly drier in fall/winter. Avoid overwatering.
Temperature & Humidity: Loves warmth (20–30°C or 68–86°F) and high humidity. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C (50°F). Mist regularly or use a humidifier.
Soil & Fertilizer: Use well-draining, rich soil. Feed every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced or bloom-boosting fertilizer.
Pruning & Maintenance: Remove old or damaged leaves to encourage new growth. Large plants may need staking for support.
Potting: Bird of Paradise prefers being slightly root-bound. Repot every 2–3 years for size or when roots outgrow the pot.
With proper care, the Bird of Paradise becomes a stunning, sculptural houseplant — and may even bloom indoors with enough light and maturity.
